There are 218 service stations in the Maxol Group retail network. 92 filling stations are directly owned by the Group and are operated through Licence Agreements. The remaining 126 stations are owned and operated by independent retailers, under the Maxol brand.
Investment:
Maxol's Service Station Redevelopment Programme is on-going. Over the next 3 years, Maxol will invest €15 million to ensure that the highest standards of forecourt and shop facilities are available, wherever the motorist needs them.
Standards:
Maxol operates a stringent minimum standards program throughout it's entire network. Uniquely, the top management of the Group, including the Chief Executive, carry out formal, detailed, service station inspections on a monthly basis. These inspections focus on all elements of forecourt and shop presentation, ensuring the motorist can always expect the best from Maxol.
Service:
In conjunction with the program of service station inspections, Maxol operates a mystery motorist program. An independent mystery motorist is employed to observe and report on the quality of service being provided throughout Maxol's retail network. The subsequent feedback that the Group and the station operators concerned receive is an invaluable tool, to both ourselves and our retailers, in our efforts to provide a service that is always first class.
Both the service station inspections and the mystery motorist visits form the basis of Maxol's all Ireland Annual Retail Business Awards Scheme, whereby we reward those retailers and their staff who perform highly. The coveted awards are to be found proudly displayed in a number of service stations around the country. Further details of the scheme and last year's award winners can be found in the Awards section of this site.
Maxol / Mace Alliance:
1n 1996, the Maxol Group formed a strategic alliance with Mace, to provide a superior standard of convenience retailing at Maxol forecourt shops. To date, more than 78 stores have been re-imaged under the Mace brand.
24 Hrs:
Maxol, has a policy of providing a network of 24 hour sites, strategically located throughout the Island of Ireland.

Maxol offers a Charge Card fuel facility which is available to businesses, big and small in Ireland, who have a minimum annual expenditure of £1,500/€2,000 per annum on fuel. Charge Card customers can avail of a Fleet Analysis report, which facilitates the control and monitoring of all purchases made during the month.
